It employed a microfiber mop that can absorb liquids, and sonic vibration technology to scrub floors up to 3,000 revolutions per minutes. This was faster than the X1 Omni circular pads, which spin at 180 rotations per minute. The S7 Max Ultra’s ReactiveAI 2.0 obstacle recognition system was excellent. During our tests, it didn’t get stuck on anything, and it avoided curtains, power cords and other obstacles 100% of the time.
2. Narwal Freo
Vacuuming and mopping your floors is one of those chores that people hate but is essential for maintaining a tidy home. It is also a messy and oftentimes unpleasant task that can be a challenge to complete since it requires handling dirty water and dustbins, and ensuring that hair or debris doesn’t block the traps or brushes. Robots that mop and vacuum are now extremely popular. Many of these products require you to empty the dustbin, and wash and rinsing mop pads manually. The Narwal Freo also does a good job of keeping its noise level down when it is working and registering just 63dB while in suction mode. The Freo’s maintenance isn’t completely hands-free, however. You’ll need to clean the primary brush roll as well as the side brushes periodically.
3. Ecovacs Deebot T9+
The Ecovacs Deebot T9+ is available at The Good Guys (for $1279) and is one of the most advanced self-emptying robots that mop and vacuum combos. It can map out your home, vacuuming and mopping, while finding and avoiding obstacles. It can even emit an air freshener which is a neat touch.
The app creates a digital map of your home which can be used to clean. It’s easy to install. The app lets you choose specific rooms or areas to be cleaned. You can also select the time you’d like it to start cleaning, so that your floors are kept clean even when you’re away or asleep.
In our tests, the T9+ was awe-inspiring in its ability to navigate obstacles. It is known to take a shrewd route around the house. This usually meant that it ended up in the same place it had started cleaning moments earlier. It wasn’t often, but it was enough to be noticed and something worth taking note of.
The T9+ comes with a selection of accessories, including the robot cleaner, docking-station, and an automatic-emptying station. The mopping module as well as the dust bin replacement are available separately.

The Combo J7+ is simple to control using the mobile app it is simple and well-designed. It also works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, so you can tell it to start cleaning by speaking. The only downside I found was that the Combo j7+’s smaller water tank means you’ll need to refill it often or limit the cleaning to smaller areas and use eco-mode more frequently.
The Combo j7+ has a tiny dust bin that you have to empty manually. I also found the Combo j7+’s mop pads to be less effective than those of other brands, which is a shame since it’s a fantastic combination robot.
